A weeks ago I made the tunic style, view c in this pattern. I like the tunic but I was a little on the fence about making one of the dresses. I thought they were cute but just wasn't inspired to do it. However that changed while reading one of favorite blogs Toya @ www.trinilove.typepad.com made a gorgeous dress using this pattern. That was definitely the inspiration I needed to get moving. This dress was a quick & easy sew. The challenges that I faced was lining up the patterns on the fabric. I played around with it until I got it. This was the best that I could do.

This pattern is definitely one of my favorites.. The pattern instructions are so simple and easy to follow.. not too many pieces to fuss about...very little alterations needed and the fit is just fabulous, its roomy and comfortable and the gathering at the waist band gives it a perfect fit.

Pattern description: V-neck, bat sleeves, gathering at the waist band.

Alterations: I omitted the elastic in the seams on the sleeve edges. Per the instructions the sleeves should be sewn together then the elastic attached to the seams on the inside of the sleeve closer to the edge which give the edges a gathered effect. Trying to put the elastic in just didnt work for me so I just left it alone.

The neck band was shortened by 3 inches because aftering pinning it to the neck of the garment I thought it was a little too big and I wanted the neck to fit a little closer. So as I sewed on the neck bank I was able to give it a good stretch. After putting on the neck band. It still seemed a little loose in the neck line area by the shoulders. I am thinking that it could be because of the fabric. The fabric is very drapey so it has a hanging feeling....Other than that I love this top....
